Doyt Perry Stadium

Of all the contests that I have seen at “the Doyt” (most of which happen on the sidelines, or from the luxurious indoor seats from the administrative offices), the game against South Dakota so happened to be the first one since the official start of the tour. Not known for selling out, the Doyt does have its fair share of redeeming qualities. For one, all fans are invited on the field following the game.

FCS opponent South Dakota came to town to take on a BGSU after a loss to Michigan State where the Falcons showed some promise. South Dakota had other interests. After putting up 77 points on Drake the week before, the Coyotes came out swinging, and moved the ball up and down the field. BG scored again with little time left, but could not pull of the comeback and lost 35-27.

The crowd for the game was respectable, filling 70% of the stadium for an FCS opponent and created a good amount of noise. Sadly, the 17,000+ went home a bit disappointed.
